Privacy Policy

TakeKApp ("we," "us," or "our") provides VersaMemo (the "App"). This policy explains what information the App handles, where it is stored, and when an optional feature communicates with another service.
1. Local-first data storage
The App does not require a VersaMemo account. Notes, titles, tags, schedules, settings, images, files, voice memos, extracted text, and other content you create are stored in the App's local storage on your device. The App does not automatically upload this content to a TakeKApp server.
Local automatic backup generations are also stored in the App's device storage. If you export or share a backup or another file, the selected destination or receiving app controls the copy after it leaves VersaMemo.
2. Information you choose to expose outside the App
Home Screen widgets
When you make a memo available to a Home Screen widget, the selected title, excerpt, appearance information, and memo identifier are copied to an operating-system shared area. Widget content can be visible without opening or unlocking VersaMemo. Protected memos require an additional confirmation before their content is made available to a widget.
Sharing, exporting, and support email
The App shares content only after you choose a share, export, open-in, or email action. Support information is added to an email only when you choose to include it and may contain the App version, operating system, device model, data-format version, language, theme, and broad purchase status. Support information does not intentionally include memo bodies, tags, attachments, search terms, or purchase receipts.
3. Optional network features and third parties
Core note creation, editing, search, and access to local backups do not require a VersaMemo account. The following optional features use network access:
- Google ML Kit: required translation models may be downloaded from Google. Translation is performed on the device. Google ML Kit may communicate for model updates and may process usage, performance, diagnostic, or device information according to Google's applicable terms and privacy documentation. VersaMemo does not send memo text to a TakeKApp server for translation.
- Google Fonts: when you browse or select an uncached downloadable font, the App may request font files from Google. The request may expose standard network information such as an IP address and device or request metadata to the service. Memo text is not included in the font request.
- Link previews: when the App retrieves a preview for a URL in a memo, it sends a standard web request to that URL's host. The host can receive the URL requested and standard connection information such as an IP address and user agent.
- Selected-text Web search: only after you explicitly choose the Web search action, the selected text is sent as a query to Google Search and the result is shown in an embedded browser. Google's applicable terms and privacy practices govern that request. VersaMemo does not send unselected memo content or run this search automatically.
- App Store and Google Play: purchases and restoration are processed by Apple or Google. The App receives product, transaction, and entitlement status needed to provide Pro access. Payment credentials are handled by the store, not by TakeKApp.
- External apps and websites: opening a policy page, refund page, file, share destination, or email application is governed by the selected service's privacy practices.
The App does not include third-party advertising, Firebase Analytics, or Firebase Crashlytics, and TakeKApp does not operate a VersaMemo analytics account or advertising profile.
4. Device permissions
Depending on the feature you choose and your device, the App may request access to the microphone, photos or files, notifications, speech recognition, and device authentication. These permissions are used to provide the requested feature. On-device OCR and supported on-device speech recognition do not intentionally send note or recording content to a TakeKApp server.
5. Purchases
Purchase status may be cached locally so the App can provide Pro features. Apple or Google maintains purchase and payment records under its own policies. A purchase on one store does not automatically create an account or transfer an entitlement to the other store.
6. Security and access controls
App lock, hidden memos, and per-memo lock are access-control features. They do not encrypt the App database, attachments, local backups, exported files, or Home Screen widget content.
You are responsible for protecting access to your device and for storing exported backups in an appropriate location. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Retention and deletion
You can delete individual content, clear the trash, remove downloaded translation data where the App provides that control, and remove the App's local data by uninstalling it. Copies that you exported, shared, or saved outside the App must be deleted from their destination separately. Store transaction records are retained by Apple or Google according to their policies and legal obligations.
8. Children
The App is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly operate a VersaMemo account service that collects children's personal information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the App or applicable requirements change. The current version and effective date will be posted on this page.
